Sailing Experience
I have been sailing for 40 years on the North Devon (South West England) coast. I have owned many small sail boats, from 19 to 26ft, sailed the Bristol Channel, English Channel, Irish Sea, Ireland, Channel Islands and Mediterranean.
Currently, I have very little solo sailing experience; this is about to change in 2026.
When have you launched your Globe 5.80 boat? If not yet, at what stage is your build?
The boat is being planked now and will be laminated at the end of March 2026.
Why do you want to compete in the MGR?
My dream from a young boy was always to build a boat and sail around the world.
What do you consider the best and worst parts about the MGR?
Hardest: The amount of work to build the boat to get to the start line.
Best: To challenge myself, sail the oceans, and meet inspiring people.
