Weather Update: A formidable system from the north is stirring significant headwinds of 40-45 knots, affecting both the Vendee Globe fleet and our intrepid Globe 580 sailors. The fleets are currently intermingling, which has led to some NO close encounters.
Fleet Progress:
Peter Punk is not advancing as quickly as hoped, managing only 41 miles in the last 24 hours, but maintaining a steady 3 knots since picking up from 2.5 to 3 knots.
Adam has faced some hardship with newly confirmed cracked ribs but remains resilient and in good spirits, adapting his sailing to a more conservative style to cope with his condition.
Little Bea shows on the tracker as a front runner but is technically about 44 miles behind the actual leaders due to the strategic navigation along the great circle route.
Looking Ahead: The fleet is poised to catch substantial trade winds which will usher them rapidly towards warmer climates. With the current pace, we’re observing exciting shifts in positions daily, underscoring the unpredictability and thrill of Mini One Design solo ocean racing.
